Kadavu
South from Viti Levu is the fourth-largest island group, the Kadavu Group. It is approximately 100 km south of Viti Levu and accessible primarily by air travel, although ferry access can be arranged. The island of Kadavu is remote and contains little in the way of roads and much of the island transport is by small boat. The island has a number of backpacker destinations that offer activities such as diving, surfing and sea kayaking. It is a great place for bird watching, trekking and nature lovers with mountainous passes, rainforests and waterfalls. The business center of Vunisea is the administrative center for the island and has a post office, bank and small store. It has been recommended that you bring cash to the island, as many accommodation places do not accept credit cards or traveller's checks.
